What is The Constellation fellowship?

Constellation is where leaders who believe in a shared future learn to build it. Created for meet alumni and now open to changemakers working in the Israeli-Palestinian ecosystem, it brings them together for ten months of learning, practice and partnership.

Leadership

Taught by: Prof. Otto Scharmer, Dr. Danielle Shani

Lead from purpose. Participants learn Theory U, the method developed at MIT for leading change, through its working tools: sensing journeys and stakeholder interviews, levels of listening, and prototyping. The method rests on one practical idea: what a leader achieves depends on the quality of attention they bring to the situation. Participants apply these tools to their own project, from the first conversation to a working prototype.

Social Entrepreneurship

Taught by: Design X

Build what comes next. With MIT DesignX, participants learn to design and build an initiative of their own. Each carries a project, focused on the Israeli-Palestinian reality in the region, and aimed at changing the reality we live in. Participants build their projects together, testing and strengthening each other's work. The cohort becomes a bi-national network of changemakers.

Middle East studies

Taught by: Dr. Peter Krause and Dr. Ameer Fakhoury

Understand the reality you act in. Participants study the narratives that Israelis and Palestinians hold about their own identity, history and claims, and deepen their understanding of the conflict across the region. They examine how these narratives shape politics, society and daily life, so that the projects they build rest on a clear picture of the reality they want to change.

Binational dialogue

Facilitated by meet facilitators

Understand each other from the inside. As a dialogue group of Israelis and Palestinians, participants work through their disagreements together, learn to hear the other side's experience as it is lived, and build the trust that a shared future requires. The group becomes a practice space for the partnership they aim to create beyond the program.

About meet

meet inspires Israeli and Palestinian youth to find common ground. In partnership with MIT since 2004, meet teaches excelling high school students computer science, entrepreneurship and leadership skills, so they can make a lasting, meaningful change in their communities.
